Job Description

The YMCA of the Highland Lakes in Burnet, Texas, is hiring a Facilities Director. The Facility Director will be expected to manage all facility maintenance, custodial services, implement a preventative maintenance schedule, take over RV park management, act as tenant liaison, conduct pool maintenance, pump room repairs, assist and run special events, room setup, remodel and expansion projects as necessary, and other duties as assigned by the Operations Director. Facilities Director will also be responsible for inventory, supply ordering, and manage dept budget. Must have working knowledge of basic hand and power tools, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and must complete CPO or POOL certification class. This position will be report directly to the Operations Director. 

This is a full time exempt position.  Although typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 6pm, hours will vary depending on project.  Some nights, weekends, and on call will be required. 

Skills/ Requirements:  Applicants must have at least 12 months of experience in general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, remodeling, be organized, mechanically minded, and must be at least 21 years of age. OSHA certification, electrical and vehicle mechanics experience a plus.

Reference checks, criminal history background check, Sex Offender Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen are required for all hired applicants.  Employee must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, have reliable transportation and show proof of insurance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to noisy. Will work around machinery and tools, landscape equipment, exercise machines/equipment, swimming pools, lakes and aquatic features. Will work in varied weather conditions including the Texas heat. Will work under stress, as a team member, and with overlapping projects. Exposure to crowds and varying noise levels is routine.

Salary: $31,000  - $36,000 per year DOE and Certifications
