Job Description

CHASCO Family YMCA in Round Rock, TX, is seeking experienced, friendly, high-energy part time Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. This position requires a leader who is vigilant, safety minded and enjoys working with children. This person will be able to maintain a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Must know and be able to perform all lifeguard skills as well as show competency in all four swim strokes. Applicant must be able to verbally communicate with public and staff, build member relations and maintain a clean, safe pool deck.

Shifts: Our pool is open 5:00am-9:00pm M-F, 7:00am-6:30pm Sat and 1:00p-9:00pm Sundays.
Pay: $10.00 – $12.66 per hour based on experience and certifications.

Skills / Requirements

  • Age: Must be 16 years or older
  • Must have at least 6 months previous lifeguard and/or swim instruction experience.
  • Certifications: YMCA or ARC Lifeguard Training, YMCA Swim Instructor or ARC WSI, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (ASHI or ARC), First Aid (ASHI or ARC), and Oxygen Administration (ASHI or ARC).
  • Must demonstrate swimming and basic rescue ability.
  • Must attend weekly staff in service trainings as part of the staff team.


Applicants will be required to pass reference checks, a criminal history background check, sex offender check, and pre-employment drug screen.
